Who You Will Work With

Meet the Team — Logan County Tree Co., Lincoln, IL

Logan County Tree Co. is a crew of four based in Lincoln, Illinois, and we like it that way. Whoever sizes up your tree is usually the one who cuts it, and whoever picks up the phone knows this week's schedule. Not one of us drives in from somewhere else to work here; we live in Logan County, and most of us grew up in it.

The Crew You'll Meet

Brett Aper

Owner & Climber

Brett was raised on a corn-and-soybean farm outside Mount Pulaski and spent four seasons on a utility line-clearance crew across Logan, DeWitt and Sangamon counties, plus three summers of storm cleanup, working under energized lines through derecho debris and July heat, before starting the company in 2014 with a bucket truck, a chipper and a stump grinder. He still lives in Lincoln, still climbs, still handles the technical takedowns beside houses and service drops, and still looks at most jobs himself before they go on the calendar.

Kelsey Ruble

Estimates & Scheduling

Kelsey is usually the first voice you hear when you call. She sets up the estimate visit, gets the written price to you, asks the questions that tell us whether your tree is on the parkway and needs the Street Superintendent's consent before anyone can touch it, and keeps the calendar straight after a storm, when the phone rings faster than the crew can get to the jobs. Wondering when the truck will pull up? Ask Kelsey.

Marco Delgado

Crew Lead & Equipment

Marco runs the equipment: the bucket truck, the chipper, the stump grinder, and the clearing gear on fence-row and building-lot jobs. On a removal near a structure he sets the rigging and works the ground while Brett or Tyler is in the tree, and he is the reason the yard is clean when the truck pulls out.

Tyler Schwantz

Climber / Groundman

Tyler climbs the trees the bucket cannot reach, like the big silver maples in the back corner of an older Lincoln lot or the cottonwoods and sycamores standing along Salt Creek behind a farmhouse, and works the ground on everything else: rope work, sectioning trunks, feeding the chipper, and hauling brush.

Room on the Crew

We are always open to meeting good central Illinois tree-care talent.
