Where We Work
Logan County Tree Co. is based in Lincoln, Illinois, the Logan County seat, where old Route 66 and I-55 run side by side between Springfield and Bloomington. This county is where the truck is parked at night. We cover all of it, down to small spots like Cornland, Burton View and Lake Fork, plus the neighboring stretches of DeWitt, Tazewell, Mason and Sangamon counties.
The trees change little from town to town: silver maples and hackberries over roofs, oaks and walnuts on the old blocks, cottonwoods and willows along Salt Creek and Kickapoo Creek, Osage orange hedgerows and pine windbreaks at the field edges, and dead ash on nearly every street. DeWitt County, 17.9 road miles, 31 minutes. The 1832 village south of Kickapoo Creek, named for General Anthony Wayne.
Logan County, 18.7 road miles, 36 minutes. The county's oldest town, on ground Abraham Lincoln surveyed, with the Stage Coach Inn off the square.

Sangamon County, 19.3 road miles, 25 minutes. The Route 66 village laid out as Benton in 1853, at the south end of our old-road run.
Mason County, 19.6 road miles, 32 minutes. The 1857 town at the west end of Route 10, on sandy ground with dead ash down every street.
DeWitt County seat, 21.9 road miles, 39 minutes. Founded in 1835 on the circuit Abraham Lincoln rode; the biggest town we serve outside Lincoln.
Mason and Logan counties, 23.1 road miles, 31 minutes. The 1858 U.S. 136 village split by the county line, with the highway for a Main Street.
DeWitt County, 24.7 road miles, 37 minutes. Named for founder Moses Kenney and home of the Fall Festival the weekend after Labor Day.
Tazewell County, 25.1 road miles, 34 minutes. A city with a post office since 1840, named for a temperance advocate, and our farthest stop.
