Tree Removal Across the County Line in Armington, IL

Armington is a village of about 310 people in Tazewell County, Illinois, 16.2 road miles and about 35 minutes north of Lincoln by the county roads, which makes it a longer drive than the miles suggest. The village was laid out on August 17, 1855 by the man it is named for and incorporated in 1904, and the first settlers in the township had come for the groves and the rich soil along Sugar Creek, where the Hittle and Judy families kept the settlement called Hittle's Grove going until 1926.

Those groves are still the tree work: bur oak, white oak, black walnut and shagbark hickory in the remnant timber along the creek, and silver maple, hackberry, Scotch pine and dead ash on the village lots and farmsteads. Armington is our first Tazewell County stop, and the county line changes nothing about the price or the crew.

Why a Lincoln Crew Comes to Armington

Why Folks in Armington Call Us

Thirty-Five Minutes by County Road

Armington is a slower drive than its miles, and we still make it without a trip charge. Kelsey groups it with Atlanta and Delavan estimates so you are not waiting on a special trip.

Grove Timber on Sugar Creek

The old oaks and walnuts in the groves along Sugar Creek are big, and some are dying back from the top. We take a dead leader from the bucket while the wood still holds, rig it away from the creek, and prune oaks only outside the oak wilt window.

Farmstead Windbreaks Past Their Prime

The Scotch pine and ash rows around Armington farmsteads are old, and the ash are mostly dead. Marco runs the skid steer through a dead stretch, we keep the live trees working as a windbreak, and the brush is chipped on site.

Tazewell County Ground

Armington is an incorporated village with its own ordinances, so a tree over a village street means a quick call to the village office. A tree on your own lot is your decision; outside the village it is Tazewell County and its fire protection district, and we tell you which office before you light anything.

Armington Questions, Answered

Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Armington?

Not for a tree wholly on your own lot. Lincoln's parkway consent, trimming notice and burn days end at the Lincoln city limits, so they do not reach Armington. Our permits page covers the towns around the county.

How soon can you get to Armington?

Call (217) 555-0136. Storm damage gets a same-day or next-day answer, and a night emergency is made safe that night and cut at daylight.
