Removal, stump grinding, trimming and clearing for the elevator village and the farms along the section roads.
Local & Insured
Hartsburg is a village of about 260 people in Orvil Township, Logan County, Illinois, 11.8 road miles and about 17 minutes north of Lincoln. The county surveyor laid it out on June 22, 1871 along the railroad, on ground owned by D. H. Harts, who gave the town its name, and the first big elevator went up in 1874; grain has been the reason the village exists ever since. The lots are tight, which changes the work.
A Hartsburg removal is usually a silver maple or a Norway maple that has outgrown a small yard and now stands over the house, the neighbor's garage and the service drop at once, and it comes down in pieces on ropes, not in one drop. Out on the section roads the farmsteads carry windbreaks of blue spruce and dead ash, and the drainage ditches grow willow and cottonwood that lean over the field entrances.

Why a Lincoln Crew Comes to Hartsburg
Hartsburg is a quick run north from Lincoln, so Kelsey pairs it with Emden and Atlanta estimates and the dates come fast. A storm call here gets a same-day or next-day answer, and there is no trip charge in Logan County.
Village lots in Hartsburg leave little room between a tree, a house and the next house. We climb and rig every piece, protect the roof, the walk and the fence, and rake the yard before the truck leaves.
The willows and cottonwoods along the drainage ditches around Hartsburg root shallow and lean over field entrances and lanes. We drop them away from the ditch, keep the equipment on the road, and leave the water running.
Hartsburg is an incorporated village with its own ordinances, so a tree over a village street means a quick call to the village office, and we tell you what it says. Outside the village, ask your fire protection district before burning.
Not for a tree wholly on your own lot. Lincoln's parkway consent, trimming notice and burn days end at the Lincoln city limits, so they do not reach Hartsburg. Our permits page covers the towns around the county.
